Henry Báez

Henry Manuel Báez (born October 12, 2002) is a Dominican professional baseball pitcher for the San Diego Padres of Major League Baseball (MLB).

On July 2, 2019, Báez signed with the San Diego Padres as an international free agent.^[1] He did not play in a game in 2020 due to the cancellation of the minor league season because of the COVID-19 pandemic.^[2] Báez made his professional debut in 2021 with the Dominican Summer League Padres, posting a 4.25 ERA with 37 strikeouts over 12 games (10 starts).^[3]

Báez spent the 2022 season with the rookie–level Arizona Complex League Padres, making 9 appearances (7 starts) and logging a 1–4 record and 3.82 ERA with 41 strikeouts across 30+2⁄3 innings of work.^[4] He split 2023 between the Single–A Lake Elsinore Storm and High–A Fort Wayne TinCaps. In 21 games (18 starts) for the two affiliates, Báez registered a combined 7–3 record and 3.84 ERA with 99 strikeouts across 98+1⁄3 innings pitched.^[5]

Báez split the 2024 campaign between High–A Fort Wayne and the Double–A San Antonio Missions, compiling a 7–4 record and 2.99 ERA with 109 strikeouts across 129+1⁄3 innings pitched over 26 starts. He was subsequently named San Diego's minor league pitcher of the year.^[6] Following the season, the Padres added Báez to their 40-man roster to protect him from the Rule 5 draft.^[7]

Báez was optioned to the Triple-A El Paso Chihuahuas to begin the 2025 season.^[8]

Ryan Bergert

Ryan Michael Bergert (born March 8, 2000) is an American professional baseball pitcher for the San Diego Padres of Major League Baseball (MLB).

Bergert attended GlenOak High School in Canton, Ohio, where he played baseball. As a senior in 2019, he went 4–2 with a 3.19 ERA and 66 strikeouts over 37 innings.^[9] After graduating, he enrolled at West Virginia University where he played college baseball.

As a freshman at West Virginia in 2019, Bergert pitched to a 2–0 record and a 1.85 ERA over 34 innings.^[10] As a sophomore in 2020, he posted a 2.92 ERA over 24+2⁄3 innings.^[11] That summer, he played in the Northwoods League for the Fond du Lac Dock Spiders.^[12] He did not play a game with West Virginia in 2021 after undergoing Tommy John surgery.^[13] Bergert was then selected by the San Diego Padres in the sixth round of the 2021 Major League Baseball draft.^[14]

Bergert signed and made his professional debut near the end of the 2021 season with the Arizona Complex League Padres, giving up no earned runs over 11 innings. He played the 2022 season with the Fort Wayne TinCaps, starting 24 games and going 4–10 with a 5.84 ERA and 129 strikeouts over 103+1⁄3 innings.^[15] He returned to Fort Wayne to open the 2023 season.^[16][17] He was promoted to the San Antonio Missions in mid-July.^[18] Over 23 games (twenty starts), Bergert went 6–4 with a 2.73 ERA and 126 strikeouts over 105+2⁄3 innings.^[19]

Bergert was assigned back to San Antonio to open the 2024 season.^[20] In 23 starts for the Missions, he logged a 2–10 record and 4.78 ERA with 87 strikeouts across 98 innings of work. Following the season, the Padres added Bergert to their 40-man roster to protect him from the Rule 5 draft.^[21]

Bergert was optioned to the Triple-A El Paso Chihuahuas to begin the 2025 season.^[22]

Anthony Clay Dungan (born June 2, 1996) is an American professional baseball infielder in the San Diego Padres organization.

Dungan attended Yorktown High School in Yorktown, Indiana, where he played baseball.^[23] He batted .488 with 13 steals as a senior in 2015.^[24] After graduating, he enrolled at Indiana State University where he played college baseball and batted .305 with nine home runs, 38 RBIs, and ten doubles over 61 starts as a senior in 2019.^[25] He was selected by the Kansas City Royals in the ninth round of the 2019 Major League Baseball draft.^[26]

Dungan signed with the Royals and made his professional debut with the Idaho Falls Chukars with whom he was named an All-Star.^[27] Over 65 games, he hit .357 with two home runs, 38 RBIs, and 19 doubles. He did not play a game in 2020 due to the cancellation of the minor league season.^[28] In 2021, he played with the Northwest Arkansas Naturals and slashed .288/.357/.405 with nine home runs, 56 RBIs, and 28 stolen bases over 108 games.^[29] He was assigned to the Omaha Storm Chasers for the 2022 season.^[30] Over 127 games, he compiled a .208/.294/.334 slash line with nine home runs, 52 RBIs, and 17 stolen bases.^[31] He returned to Omaha in 2023, hitting .273 with three home runs, thirty RBIs, and 16 stolen bases over 89 games.^[32]

On December 6, 2023, the San Diego Padres selected Dungan in the minor league phase of the Rule 5 draft.^[33]

Austin Krob

Austin Michael Krob (born September 20, 1999) is an American professional baseball pitcher in the San Diego Padres organization.

Krob attended Lisbon High School in Lisbon, Iowa and played college baseball at Texas Christian University (TCU).^[34] He was selected by the San Diego Padres in the 12th round of the 2022 Major League Baseball draft.^[35]

Krob signed with the Padres and spent his first professional season with the Arizona Complex League Padres and Lake Elsinore Storm.^[36] In 2023, he pitched for Lake Elsinore and Fort Wayne TinCaps.

Isaiah Lowe

Isaiah Daniel Lowe (born May 7, 2003) is an American professional baseball pitcher in the San Diego Padres organization.

Lowe attended Combine Academy in Lincolnton, North Carolina, where he played baseball as a pitcher and third baseman.^[37] He committed to play college baseball at Wake Forest University.^[38] Lowe was selected by the San Diego Padres in the 11th round of the 2022 Major League Baseball draft, and signed with the team for $400,000.^[39]

Lowe made his professional debut in 2023 with the Arizona Complex League Padres and Lake Elsinore Storm, but appeared in only four games before undergoing season-ending shoulder surgery.^[40] He returned to Lake Elsinore to open the 2024 season and was promoted to the Fort Wayne TinCaps in late July.^[41] Over 24 games (twenty starts) between the two teams, Lowe went 7-6 with a 3.33 ERA and 111 strikeouts over 105+1⁄3 innings.

Joshua Mears

Joshua Livingstone Mears (born February 21, 2001) is an American professional baseball outfielder in the San Diego Padres organization.

Mears was born in Kirkland, Washington and attended Federal Way High School. He batted .509 with ten home runs as a senior.^[42] Mears had committed to play college baseball at Purdue University prior to being drafted.^[43]

Mears was selected in the second round of the 2019 Major League Baseball draft by the San Diego Padres and received a $1 million signing bonus.^[44][45] After signing with the team, he was assigned to the Arizona League Padres and batted .253 with seven home runs, 24 RBIs, and thirty runs scored in 166 at-bats.^[46] Mears was named to the Padres' 2021 Spring Training roster as a non-roster invitee and entered the season as the organization's 10th-ranked prospect by MLB.com.^[47] He was assigned to the Low-A Lake Elsinore Storm for the 2021 season.^[48] Over 71 games, he slashed .244/.368/.529 with 17 home runs, 48 RBIs, and ten stolen bases. He missed time during the season due to injury.^[49]

Tyson Neighbors

Tyson Neighbors (born October 9, 2002) is an American professional baseball pitcher in the San Diego Padres organization.

Neighbors attended Royse City High School in Royse City, Texas, where he played baseball.^[50] As a senior in 2021, he batted .500 with 11 home runs alongside striking out 52 batters over 21 innings.^[51] Unselected in the 2021 Major League Baseball draft, Neighbors enrolled at Kansas State University where he played college baseball. As a junior in 2024, he made 22 relief appearances and went 1-2 with a 3.96 ERA, 61 strikeouts, and nine saves over 38+2⁄3 innings. After the season, he was selected by the San Diego Padres in the fourth round of the 2024 Major League Baseball draft.^[52][53] He signed for $600,000.^[54]

Neighbors made his professional debut with the Lake Elsinore Storm, posting a 3.86 ERA with nine strikeouts over four appearances.^[55] He was assigned to the Fort Wayne TinCaps to open the 2025 season.^[56]

Braden Nett

Braden Nett (born June 18, 2002) is an American professional baseball pitcher in the San Diego Padres organization.

Nett attended Troy Buchanan High School in Troy, Missouri and played college baseball at St. Charles Community College. He signed with the San Diego Padres as an undrafted agent in 2022.^[57] He made his professional debut that season with the Arizona Complex League Padres.

Nett spent 2023 with the ACL Padres and Lake Elsinore Storm and after the season pitched for the Peoria Javelinas in the Arizona Fall League.^[58] He pitched 2024 with the Fort Wayne TinCaps and San Antonio Missions.^[59]

Tirso Abraham Ornelas (born March 11, 2000) is a Mexican professional baseball outfielder for the San Diego Padres of Major League Baseball (MLB).

Ornelas signed with the San Diego Padres as an international free agent on March 31, 2017.^[60]

On July 17, 2024, the Padres added Ornelas to their 40-man roster and optioned him to the Triple–A El Paso Chihuahuas.^[61] In 128 games for El Paso, he slashed .297/.367/.497 with career–highs in home runs (23) and RBI (89). Following the season, Ornelas was named San Diego's minor league player of the year.^[62]

Ornelas was optioned to Triple-A El Paso to begin the 2025 season.^[63]

Bradgley Rodríguez

Bradgley Eduardo Rodríguez (born November 16, 2003) is a Venezuelan professional baseball pitcher for the San Diego Padres of Major League Baseball (MLB).

Rodríguez signed with the San Diego Padres as an international free agent in January 2021.^[64] He made his professional debut that year with the Dominican Summer League Padres.

Rodríguez missed the 2022 and 2023 season after undergoing Tommy John Surgery. He returned in 2024 to pitch for the Lake Elsinore Storm, Fort Wayne TinCaps and San Antonio Missions.^[65] He returned to San Antonio to start 2025.
