I review The Other World’s Books Depend on the Bean Counter, Vol. 3 (light novel) by Yatsuki Wakatsu. This was the last volume, which I didn't know, so the ending came as an upsetting surprise, but otherwise a good book.

Shouya, a teenager with no knowledge of love, accidentally stumbles upon the blog of a gay teen while browsing the web. But surprise surprise, he discovers that the author of that blog is Sanjou; an unapproachable loner in his class.
The story plays out in many ways. Confused about love, Shouya, being the innocent child who always tries to make others smile, slowly breaking down the walls of his new friend without revealing his knowledge as to the author of the blog.
This book is obviously aimed at teens yet covers heavy topics of consent and abuse, but it's never crass. This gorgeous, funny, and sweet book wears its heart on its sleeves and hopes you do too.
CW: Non-consentual acts (discussion), street-level homophobia, mantra (speech), extras after main story contain mild kink (bondage).

When searching for manga with vampires I came across The Vampire & His Pleasant Companions by Marimo Ragawa and Narise Konohara. And may I just say: it's so lovely that it came as a surprise to me. Sweet, light-hearted, sporadically painful when it comes to crime-connected matters. Half-made vampire who has no control over his abilities temporarily lives with a man of a particularly fitting profession.
Judging by one of the author's works this one is supposed to be BL as well, but so far (vol. 5) it kinda veers off a bit in terms of defining their relationship. Although I like the angst of the sentiment "the sorrow of outliving a loved one" in vampire-themed stories. Looking forward to seeing how it'll be handled here if it comes to this.
P.S. AL in his bat form is an absolutely adorable fluff ball.
And I just now realized that from this manga cover it's hard to tell which one is the vampire...

I decided to spend my Sunday relaxing and reading some of the manga I have lying around my apartment. This one by Moyori Mori just came out a few days ago and as expected, it was absolutely stunning both visually and story wise.
The author has a real knack for expressing the pain and trauma of the characters in their stories with an incredibly beautiful gentleness. They describe this story has one where two individuals find where they belong and what a wonderful beginning to that story it turned out to be. I can't wait to see how Rita and Ignat grow moving forward.
I review Peerless vol. 2 by Meng Xi Shi. The story of two agents of the Sui empire continues, with the pair wreaking havoc where ever they go.
