I was at a #Curling tournament in Luxembourg this weekend, and I met a Canadian who had lived in the US for dozens of years as an adult, working a well paid white collar job. He told me that when Trump was elected in 2016, he started thinking about moving, and when Republicans backed Trump again in 2020, he decided that was it. He left the US for Europe in 2021.
A few weeks ago I had a meeting with an American entrepreneur whose family fled the Holocaust. He told me that and his family are in the process of applying for German citizenship, in order to have a way out in case things get suddenly worse in the US.
I'm curious as to how many more such people I'll be meeting in the coming years?

I was at my first sporting event where we sang the national anthem since all the FOTUS nonsense.
Everyone sang Oh Canada loudly and proudly, with more hear and emotion than Iβve ever experienced.

Last night driving from #Vermont across the border into #Quebec around 7:30pm to go play in our #curling π₯ league, there was a LONG line of tractor-trailer trucks waiting to go the other direction into the USA. Weβd never seen that before.
Why were they there?
Because they wanted to be sure to get across the US border *before midnight* when the #TrumpTariffs kicked in. π€¦ββοΈπ€―
(At 11:30pm when we were crossing back into the USA, there was no line at all, either cars or trucks.)
Sitting in the lounge after #curling last week. There's a noise, sounds like someone kicking the wall.
Somebody says, "It's the ice maker".
I said, "Is he on sheet 3?"
They look out, say, "Yes".
I said, "That figures."
Someone else says, "No, the ice cube maker behind the bar."
The Brier has begun!
Looking forward to watching some great curling. π₯
