GLOBAL SUPERSTORE ANALYSIS


Introduction

Global superstore is a power BI Project on retail dataset representing a multinational retail company selling consumer goods, including office supplies, furniture and technology. The records include transactions across different product categories, regions and consumer segments, making it useful for sales and business analysis

Disclaimer: All datasets and reports do not represent any company or super market, but just a practice dataset to demonstrate capabilities of power BI.

• Identify top-performing and underperforming regions, products, and customers.

• Analyze factors affecting profitability and sales trends.

• Determine strategies to improve business efficiency and revenue

the following power BI features were incorparated:

Modelling:


The Mode is a star schema, There are 5-dimension tables and one fact table. the dimension tables are all joined to the fact table with one-to-many relationship.

Visualization


The Report comprises of 3 pages

  1. Top Countries
  2. Underperforming Countries
  3. Top Customers

Feature the three tabs are button with hovering effect and each navigates to the page with similar name

Analysis

The dataset contains information on 114,250 sales record. Top Countries by Profit: United States, Australia, India. Most Profitable Products: • Canon imageCLASS 2200 Advanced Copier. • GBC Ibimaster 500 Manual ProClick Binding System.

Underperforming Countries:

Least Performing Countries: Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia.

Least Profitable Cities in the USA: Concord, Atlanta, Waynesboro.

High Return Rate: 17K returns indicate potential quality or customer dissatisfaction issues.

Top customers:

Conclusion

• The Global Superstore has strong sales but faces profitability challenges in some regions and categories. • Addressing inefficiencies and optimizing operations can enhance overall performance and revenue growth.

Recommendations

• The top customers should be given incentives to encourage their patronage. • The least performing countries like Nigeria and some South Asian countries should be our next target for campaign and sensitization. • Free shipping to minimal shipping cost offer and discount could bring about more patronage.
