Bloom Control 2025

Bloom Control updated 2025. Included all files for it to work, so it will not break like previous versions that just replaced the executable.

Nothing new in the bloom stuff, but updated to the most recent dolphin version. Check the text file in the zip for instructions. Use with dolphin portable mode (make a .txt file called "portable" and place it next to the dolphin exe) so other versions of dolphin don't have bloom control data written to game config files.

Updated the shader for Editing Bloom:
-Fixed issues near the screen's edge for bloom that covers that area.
-Converted into a 2-pass shader, which eliminates lag in most cases. (on 12x resolution and radius = 10, I went from 22 fps to 29.99 fps)

If there's a problem, try the previous version.

Added values to sliders. Updated to newer version of Dolphin with Qt6.

Place the zipped .exe next to your Dolphin.exe and run. If you get an error, you may be running an old version of dolphin. Use the latest Development build.

In graphics -> advanced widget. Enable Scaled EFB Copy Exclusions. You need to enable either Downscale or Edit Bloom for anything to change.

Try downscale and use the top slider to filter bloom copies for downscaling. If this produces the desired results, you're done.
If downscale doesn't look good or produces a weird shimmer effect, disable it and go to step 3.
Enable Edit Bloom. Leave Strength at 100%. A radius between 1-4 will usually produce the best correction to bloom. Can depend on what Internal Resolution you are using. Higher IR may need a higher radius.
Adjust the top width slider if needed.
If there are still any issues, try the filter less button.
Optional. To edit bloom strength without applying bloom corrections: Enable Edit Bloom, set radius to 0 (far left), then set bloom strength.

Note: Radius is not meant to change actual bloom radius. It is more of a correction factor to fix bad bloom.
