eGRID R Production Model v1.0.2
eGRID2023 Revision 2 was released on June 12, 2025. The second instances of the column headers ‘annual heat input from combustion (MMBtu)’ in each of the aggregated levels (state, balancing authority, NERC region, eGRID subregion, and U.S.) were corrected to ‘ozone season heat input from combustion (MMBtu)’ which directly correlate with previous versions of eGRID. Net generation values at the Plant level (and aggregated levels) have been corrected to include negative generation that were previously calculated as 0, causing changes in emission rates. An EIA-CAPD ORIS code crosswalk has been applied, which manages difference in ORIS code assignment within EIA and CAPD, causing changes in some plant-level data.

eGRID R Production Model v1.0.0

Recently, there has been increased interest from users in understanding the methods used to create the eGRID data. To increase transparency in the eGRID production process, EPA has made the R scripts available for users to view and use.
