Kural Tab is a Chrome extension that replaces your new tab page with a random Thirukkural couplet, offering timeless wisdom each time you open a new tab.
- Random Thirukkural Display: Each new tab presents a randomly selected Thirukkural couplet.
- Dark Mode / Light Mode: Toggle dark mode or light mode.
To set up Kural Tab for local development:

Clone the repository:
git clone https://github.com/mnckapilan/kural-tab.git

Navigate to the project directory:
cd kural-tab -
Load the extension in Chrome:
- Open Chrome and navigate to
chrome://extensions/. - Enable "Developer mode" using the toggle in the top right corner.
- Click "Load unpacked" and select the
kural-tabdirectory.
- Open Chrome and navigate to

Test the extension:
- Open a new tab to see the extension in action.
- Make any necessary code changes and refresh the extension by clicking the refresh icon on the extension card in
chrome://extensions/.
