PhotoGallery

===========================================================================
DESCRIPTION

The "PhotoGallery" sample project demonstrates how to create a photo gallery that
downloads its photos from the web.

===========================================================================
FEATURES

- UIScrollView and UIGestureRecognizer are used to create a rich user experience that allow
  photos to be panned, zoomed, and double tap to zoom in/out.
- EasyTableView UI component is used for displaying and scrolling through a large set of
  thumbnails efficiently.
- ASIHTTPRequest network library is used for all the networking stuff in this project.
- Download of photos can be resumed in the event of a dropped connection.
- Image cache that loads and saves images asynchronously. (i.e. Loading a large image
  from disk cache will not cause the UI to block.)

===========================================================================
SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

iOS 4.0 or later
(Target device is iPad, but you can also run it on an iPhone with some tweaks.)

===========================================================================
PACKAGING LIST

AppDelegate.{h/m}
    Configures and displays the application window and initial view controller.

Controller/GalleryViewController.{h/m}
    Controller that configures and displays the photo and thumbnails view.

View/ThumbnailView.{h/m}
    View for displaying the thumbnail. ThumbnailView will be used as a cell in a table view.

View/PhotoView.{h/m}
    View for displaying the photo. Uses UIScrollView to allow photo to be panned and zoomed.

Model/XMLFeed/XMLFeed.{h/m}
    Downloads the XML feed and creates a NSOperationQueue to run our ParseOperation.

Model/XMLFeed/ParseOperation.{h/m}
    NSOperation object used to parse the XML RSS feed loaded by XMLFeed.

Model/Photo/Photo.{h/m}
    Photo model class that represents a photo downloaded from the server. Uses ASIHTTPRequest to
    download the photos and ImageCache to load/save photos to cache.

Model/Photo/ImageCache.{h/m}
    An image cache that loads and saves images asynchronously. Automatically generates
    thumbnails for all photos saved to cache. Photos are also optimized before being saved to cache.

Utilities/TCFileHelper.{h/m}
	Utility class that provides useful methods for accessing the app's sandbox directories.

Utilities/TCDebug.h
    Debugging tool to log messages to the console window when active build configuration is "Debug".
    Useful for logging network activities.

Utilities/TCReachability.{h/m}
    Wrapper around DDG's Reachability class (which is an enhancement to Apple's Reachability class)
    to provide a simpler API for checking network reachability.

Library/ASIHTTPRequest [Ben Copsey]
    ASIHTTPRequest is an easy to use wrapper around the CFNetwork API that makes some of the more
    tedious aspects of communicating with web servers easier.

Library/ASIHTTPRequest/Reachability.{h/m} [Andrew W. Donoho]
    Modification of Apple's Reachability class.

Library/UIImageUtilities [Trevor Harmon]
    UIImage utilities to resize images and create thumbnails.

Library/MBProgressHUD [Matej Bukovinski]
    MBProgressHUD is meant as a replacement for the undocumented, private
    UIKit UIProgressHUD with some additional features.

Library/EasyTableView [Aleksey Novicov]
    Horizontal scrolling UITableView.

Library/SynthesizeSingleton [Matt Gallagher from Cocoa with Love]
    Macro of singleton methods.

Resources/Images
    This directory contains the icons used in this project.
