The Open content option in the three-dot menu within the comment view is a useful feature for reviewing content while scrolling through comments. However, it does not support Reddit Galleries. The option appears in the menu, but selecting it has no effect, making it unusable for gallery posts.

Open content should function the same as tapping on a thumbnail or preview in the post or comment view:

  • Reddit video post → Opens in Slide’s video player

  • Image post → Opens in Slide’s image viewer

  • Imgur album post → Opens in Slide’s image viewer

  • Gallery post → Should open in Slide’s image viewer (not working as intended)

Currently, everything except gallery posts works correctly.

When reading deep into a post's comments, you might want to open the content again; perhaps because a comment provides more details or you want to review the details about the content. Without the Open content option, you have to scroll back to the top.

Pressing back to the post view, opening the image, and then returning to the comments also makes you lose your place.

Slide has a Comment Pane view to help with this, but it removes subreddit tabs and isn’t as smooth.
