The scripts in this repo have been collected and tweaked from various places.
The instructions and scripts have been tested but there is no guarrantee they will work in your situation. Make appropriate backups before using.
As with all scripts you download from the internet, inspect them and kiddy scriptor usus cautela.
If you are using pfSense in Proxmox Virtual Environment, this script run from the pfSense command line will install the QEMU guest agent and set it up so it will run on boot up.
- Log into pfSense command line as
root
- Run
curl -LJO https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Weehooey/pfSense-scripts/main/install-qemu-guest-agent.sh
- READ THE DOWNLOADED FILE! You should never blindly run scripts from the internet.
- Make the file executable
chmod +x install-qemu-guest-agent.sh
- Run the installation script
./install-qemu-guest-agent.sh
- When the script finished, it likely will output some instructions on the screen. IGNORE these instructions. The script has already taken care of it.
- Exit from the command line
- Halt the system (power it off, reboot will not suffice)
- In PVE, make sure Options > QEMU Guest Agent is set to
enabled
- Power the system back on
- You should now see the IP addresses for the interfaces on the VMs summary page (click the More button to see all of them)
