The problem

Unifi Integration does not reconnect automatically if connection to Unifi controller is lost.

Environment

  • Home Assistant Core release with the issue:
  • Last working Home Assistant Core release (if known):
  • Operating environment (OS/Container/Supervised/Core): HassOS 4.13/Supervisor 245/Hass 0.115.2
  • Integration causing this issue: Ubiquiti UniFi
  • Link to integration documentation on our website: https://www.home-assistant.io/integrations/unifi/

Problem-relevant configuration.yaml

no config, GUI integration

Traceback/Error logs

2020-09-22 17:59:17 WARNING (MainThread) [homeassistant.components.unifi] Lost connection to UniFi controller
2020-09-22 17:59:52 ERROR (MainThread) [aiounifi.websocket] Unexpected error 503, message='Invalid response status', url=URL('wss://unifi.example.com:443/wss/s/default/events')

Additional information

Reloading the integration via the GUI fixes the problem.

Looks like this one is related to #35187.

Situation has become worse with 0.118. Apparently it's not possible anymore to reload the extension from the UI. Now you have to reboot whole Homeassistant to fix this issue.
