Application for LFX mentorship 2024 Term 2: To see how you would approach this issue, you will submit a research plan which should contain:
Submit this plan as your cover letter. There is no need to write a regular cover letter for this application, only the research plan and resume. Submission Process: Selection Process: We will be factoring to an extent previous experience with open source, cloud technologies, user experience and user research. The reason we will not be placing a large emphasis on past experience is that this is meant to be a beginner friendly project, and we wish to give people that are completely new to the space a chance! |
This project looks interesting, and I would like to work on it in LFX Mentorship. |
For this project, the application review process/policy is: To help keep the final review process unbiased, the other mentor Mariana Mejia will not be reviewing anything before the proposal deadline, so please direct all your drafts and questions towards Leo. After the deadline, Leo will collect all the submissions received and anonymize them before sharing them with Mariana and the other UX WG leads. Mariana and the other UX WG leads will then evaluate the anonymous proposals, and the overall best proposal will be chosen. For purposes of fairness, Leo will not be involved in the final evaluations as he will be the only person who knows which proposals were written by which people. We encourage interaction between the mentor and mentees, so we encourage you to reach out to us (Leo Li and Ali Ok) to gain some early feedback on your proposal before your final submission! |
@Leo6Leo I would like to get feedback on the proposal I have prepared for this project.. Should I send the proposal to your email leoli@redhat.com for early feedback? |
Hello @Leo6Leo & @mmejia02 , I am Hetvi Lodaya from India. I recently came across this project and am intrigued by it. I would love to contribute to this project as this project perfectly aligns with my goals and skills. I will be sending my proposal as soon as possible. Would love to connect with you and understand more about this project. Thanks and Regards. |
I’m excited to let you know that I’ve finished my research proposal to address the issues you've stated here! It covers my goals, research methods, participant recruitment, KPIs, timeline, and ethical considerations. I’d love to get your feedback on it before I submit. Your suggestions would be super helpful to make sure it aligns with the project’s objectives. You can find it at your email address you've stated here. I’m looking forward to hearing your thoughts!👀 |
Please don't forget to submit your application on the LFX portal too, so you will be in the LFX system! |
This commit adds the README.md file for the Knative Eventing Onboarding Research project. The README serves as the central navigation point for the research materials and includes: An overview of the project goals and outcomes. - A table of contents aligning with the research report structure. - Links to individual sections, including findings, recommendations, and methodologies. - References to the GitHub Project Board for task tracking and the related issue (knative#130).
Onboarding new end users into Knative Eventing, which utilizes event-driven architecture (EDA), poses significant challenges due to the complexity of the system and technical nature of current documentation.
This project will investigate the barriers to smooth user onboarding and sustained engagement through extensive interviews with new, current, and past users.
The objective is to produce a report that details the end-user journey and implement actionable steps such as producing onboarding contents to enhance the onboarding process and overall user experience.
