Summary of Changes
Hello @hongyunyan, I'm Gemini Code Assist1! I'm currently reviewing this pull request and will post my feedback shortly. In the meantime, here's a summary to help you and other reviewers quickly get up to speed!
This pull request enhances the robustness of the splitTableByRegionCount
function by implementing a more comprehensive error handling and cleanup mechanism. It ensures that if any step in the operator creation process fails, all previously initiated operations are properly terminated, preventing resource leaks or orphaned tasks.
Highlights
- Operator Tracking: A new slice named
operators
is introduced within thesplitTableByRegionCount
function to keep track ofMergeSplitDispatcherOperator
instances as they are created. - Robust Error Handling and Cleanup: Improved error handling logic has been added. If the
operatorController.AddOperator
call fails (returnsfalse
), the code now iterates through all previously added operators in theoperators
slice and calls theirOnTaskRemoved()
method. This ensures proper cleanup and prevents operators from being left in an unfinished state if a subsequent operator creation fails.

Code Review
The pull request introduces crucial error handling and cleanup logic within the splitTableByRegionCount
function. Specifically, it ensures that if an operator fails to be added, any previously added operators are properly removed, preventing potential resource leaks and state inconsistencies. This change significantly improves the robustness and reliability of the operator management in the system.

This for
loop correctly addresses a critical issue where previously added operators might be left in an unmanaged state if c.operatorController.AddOperator(op)
fails for a subsequent operator. Without this cleanup, those operators could indefinitely consume resources or block future operations, leading to system instability. The comment clearly explains the intent, which is excellent for maintainability. This is a significant improvement for the robustness of the system.
