@picturestone we did here also talk with Jens some time ago, we requested a research from him to get the official google statement when this was reverted as this is from our side needed to explain our users why this value is getting reduced now. |

The topic itself is very difficult as it depends really on the search engine which the user use and which is important.
At current state testing it I did got to the following result:
Bing: ~360 / Mobile ~200
Baidu: ~160
DuckDuckGo: ~360
Google: ~160
Yandex: ~160
as feedback from our partners google is the most important thing so they want the 160 again. Google was also the origin why it was in the past changed from 160 to 360, but this was without any official statement changed back again by google.
What's in this PR?
This PR changes the recommended length of the meta description shown in the SEO tab in the admin from 320 to 160 characters.
Why?
The 320 characters limit does not represent current recommendations. Google shortened its used length to about 160 characters. Source.
