Install xampp in local machine.
Install local drupal instance inside htdocs.
to install and configure git in local directory(/Applications/XAMPP/htdocs/drupal7) follow the below ink https://help.github.com/articles/set-up-git/
inside sites/all/modules

git init

git clone git@github.com:sharmam1/time-summary.git as we are hosting only custom folder in github.
create a branch from master branch and do the commit
for contributed modules and themes use the drush commmand to download and enable.
