Packaging system to deploy Ravencoin Block Explorer
The current configuration of this repository creates deb packages suited to run on ubuntu, behind Cloudflare(snakeoil ssl only)
To customize the domain, edit line 5 of ravencore-deb/rvn/ravencore/nginx-ravencore
server_name ravencoin.network;
If running in a test VM be sure to make a hosts entry on whatever device you are accessing the site from to convert between the domain name and the ip of the test VM. For production usage be sure to customize all passwords for ravencoin

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install -y docker-ce git make
git clone https://github.com/underdarkskies/ravencore-deb
cd ravencore-deb/rvn
sudo make
DEB file will appear in ravencore-deb/rvn/
Download your deb to the home directory of your ubuntu instance
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install -qy apt-transport-https curl python-minimal
curl https://deb.nodesource.com/node_10.x/pool/main/n/nodejs/nodejs_10.5.0-1nodesource1_amd64.deb > node.deb
sudo dpkg -i node.deb
rm node.deb
sudo dpkg -i ravencore_<version>_amd64.deb #change <version>. This will error, the next commands resolve those errors.
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get -f install -y
at this point the ravencore service and nginx will automatically launch and run even after reboot
Optional: add a redirect from www.example.com to example.com
$sudo nano /etc/nginx/conf.d/redirect.conf
and edit the file with:
server {
server_name www.example.com;
return 301 $scheme://example.com$request_uri;
}
$sudo service ravencore start
$sudo service ravencore stop
$sudo service ravencore restart
$sudo service ravencore status
$journalctl -u ravencore
$sudo service nginx start
$sudo service nginx stop
$sudo service nginx restart
$sudo service nginx status
journalctl -u nginx
$sudo apt-get install -y aptitude
$sudo aptitude purge ravencore
- Change version in git checkout in rvn/ravencore/Makefile
- Create a new entry in rvn/ravencore/debian/changelog by using 'dch -i'
- Then build as usual
