Siran Neal MIA DB
49ers' Siran Neal: Moving to NFC
12h agoThe 49ers are signing Neal to a two-year contract, Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network reports.
To this point, Neal had spent his entire NFL career in the AFC, playing six seasons with Buffalo and one with Miami. He's worked almost strictly as a special teams ace in recent campaigns, logging fewer than 60 regular-season defensive snaps and more than 300 special teams snaps each of the past three years. Neal will likely take on a similar role in San Francisco.

Travis Homer CHI RB
Bears' Travis Homer: Returning to Chicago
14h agoHomer (hamstring) signed a one-year, $2-million deal with the Bears on Monday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
The running back will remain with the team that he played for during the 2023 and '24 campaigns. Homer missed Chicago's last three games of 2024 with a hamstring injury but appears to be healthy again. He played more on special teams than offense in each of the last two seasons, recording just six carries for 23 yards and three catches for 11 yards between the two years.

Isaiahh Loudermilk PIT DE
Steelers' Isaiahh Loudermilk: Staying with Pittsburgh
16h agoLoudermilk agreed to a one-year deal with the Steelers on Monday, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
The rotational defensive lineman played in 16 regular-season games and Pittsburgh's only playoff game last year, recording 17 tackles (10 solo) in the regular season and three (two solo) in the playoff loss to Baltimore. The 2021 fifth-round pick of the Steelers made a career high 23 tackles (16 solo) during his rookie season.
-
Lane Johnson PHI OT
Eagles' Lane Johnson: Signs through 2027
16h agoJohnson signed a one-year contract extension through 2027 on Monday.
Johnson will now make an additional $8 million over the next two years and an additional $30 million in guarantees, per Adam Schefter of ESPN. Schefter also noted that the five-time All-Pro tackle will make $48 million, including $40 million guaranteed, over the next two years. The 2013 first-round pick was named an All-Pro for the fourth consecutive season in 2024 and has started all 158 games he's played in during his career.
-
Garrett Bradbury MIN C
Garrett Bradbury: Cut by Minnesota
17h agoThe Vikings announced Monday that they are releasing Bradbury, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
The 29-year-old from NC State has been an integral part of the Vikings offensive line since entering the NFL in 2019, starting all 88 of the regular-season games he's appeared in. However, with the team signing All-Pro Ryan Kelly last week, it became clear Bradbury wasn't a part of Minnesota's future plans. The veteran center is now expected to draw interest from teams in need of offensive line depth before the 2025 season.
-
Juan Thornhill CLE DB
Steelers' Juan Thornhill: Inks deal with Pittsburgh
17h agoThe Steelers are signing Thornhill to a one-year deal, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
The veteran safety from Virginia was designated a post-June 1 cut by the Browns in late February but will now remain in the AFC North after signing with the Steelers on Monday. Thornhill appeared in 22 games over his last two seasons in Cleveland, recording 103 total tackles and four passes defended. Now in Pittsburgh, the 29-year-old is expected to compete with DeShon Elliott for a starting safety position alongside Minkah Fitzpatrick.

Blaze Jordan BOS 3B
Red Sox's Blaze Jordan: Returns to action Monday
42m agoJordan (arm) played two innings at first base in Monday's 12-3 loss to the Orioles in Grapefruit League play.
Though he didn't make any plate appearances, Jordan's usage off the bench Monday implies that he's healthy after he was hit by a pitch and then lifted for a pinch runner in his last Grapefruit League game back on March 8. Jordan is likely to open the 2025 season at either Double-A Portland or Triple-A Worcester.

Connor Gillispie MIA SP
Marlins' Connor Gillispie: In running for rotation spot
1h agoGillispie appears to have an inside track to head into Opening Day as the Marlins' No. 5 starter with Edward Cabrera (finger) likely to begin the season on the injured list, Stephen Strom of Marlins Radio Network reports.
Sandy Alcantara, Ryan Weathers, Cal Quantrill and Max Meyer are locked into spots in the Opening Day rotation, and with Cabrera dealing with a blister and Valente Bellozo and Adam Mazur having already been optioned to Triple-A Jacksonville, Gillispie appears to be the only starting candidate on the 40-man roster still left in big-league camp. The 27-year-old right-hander made his MLB debut in 2024 as a reliever with Cleveland, but he started in 15 of his 27 appearances at Triple-A Columbus last season, logging a 4.05 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 119:48 K:BB in 113.1 innings. He's fared well over his first four outings of the spring with Miami, having yet to allow a hit while issuing one walk and striking out four over eight scoreless innings. Gillispie is scheduled to start Tuesday's Grapefruit League game against the Cardinals, and another strong showing could be enough to solidify his spot in the rotation.
-
Edward Cabrera MIA SP
Marlins' Edward Cabrera: IL-bound with blister issue
1h agoCabrera will begin the season on the 15-day injured list with a blister on his right middle finger, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.
Cabrera exited in his last Grapefruit League outing Thursday due to the injury. He played catch Monday, but the throwing session apparently didn't go as well as the Marlins had hoped. Connor Gillispie has tossed eight scoreless innings this spring without allowing a hit and looks to be first in line to fill the rotation vacancy created by Cabrera's absence.

Freddie Freeman LAD 1B
Dodgers' Freddie Freeman: '75 percent chance' of playing Wed.
1h agoFreeman (rib) said Tuesday that there's a "75 percent chance" he will be ready to play Wednesday against the Cubs, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.
Freeman was a late scratch from Tuesday's lineup after feeling discomfort in his left ribcage during batting practice. The first baseman noted that the soreness is in the same spot where he tore rib cartilage during the postseason last year, although he added that the current issue is less severe. While Freeman seems fairly optimistic about his chances of suiting up Wednesday, it would not be a surprise if the Dodgers exercised caution and elected to hold him out until next week's domestic opener.
-
Matt Shaw CHC SS
Cubs' Matt Shaw: Quiet debut in Tokyo
1h agoShaw went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts during Tuesday's 4-1 loss to the Dodgers in Tokyo.
The 23-year-old, who is the Cubs' top prospect, batted fifth in his MLB debut Tuesday but failed to make much of an impact at the plate. Shaw earned the Opening Day nod at third base after a strong showing in spring training, as he went 5-for-16 with a double while missing some time due to an oblique issue. His big-league debut may have fell flat, but Shaw still has plenty of upside after he totaled 21 homers and 31 steals with an .867 OPS in 121 games across the Double-A and Triple-A levels last year.
-
Shohei Ohtani LAD DH
Dodgers' Shohei Ohtani: Scores twice Opening Day
1h agoOhtani went 2-for-5 with a double, two runs scored and a strikeout in Tuesday's 4-1 win over the Cubs in Tokyo.
The Japanese superstar was unable to deliver a home run in the first official game back in his home country, but he still produced as a leadoff man in the season opener. Ohtani recently slowed his pitching progression in order to ramp up his preparations as a hitter for Opening Day, but he's still expected to join the starting rotation sometime in May. For now, the 30-year-old will continue to serve as the Dodgers' designated hitter as he works his way back from November shoulder surgery.

Duop Reath POR C
Trail Blazers' Duop Reath: Scores 15 points in win
34m agoReath supplied 15 points (5-11 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds, three assists, one block and one steal across 23 minutes during Monday's 112-97 victory over the Wizards.
Robert Williams (knee) hasn't seen the floor since Feb. 22 and it's unclear when Deandre Ayton (calf) will be able to return, giving Reath a firm grip on the backup center minutes. He's trending up over his last three outings, averaging 10.0 points, 3.7 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 0.7 steals, 1.7 blocks and 2.0 three-pointers in just 19.8 minutes per contest.
-
Matisse Thybulle POR SF
Trail Blazers' Matisse Thybulle: Records five steals
37m agoThybulle had nine points (4-9 FG, 1-5 3Pt), four rebounds, three assists, one block and five steals in 22 minutes during Monday's 112-97 win over the Wizards.
Making just his second appearance of the season, Thybulle made plenty of waves on the defensive end with his 11th career game with at least five steals. Toumani Camara (calf), Jerami Grant (knee) and Jabari Walker (concussion) were all sidelined Monday, making Thybulle a potential streamer in the short term until the Trail Blazers get some reinforcements.
-
Kris Murray POR PF
Trail Blazers' Kris Murray: Records four steals
41m agoMurray closed Monday's 112-97 win over the Wizards with five points (2-8 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 1-2 FT), 10 rebounds, three assists and four steals in 37 minutes.
Murray matched his career-high mark of four steals in the win, logging a massive workload in the process. This was also his third career game with double-digit rebounds. Murray is typically a low-usage role player for Portland, but he made the most of his spot start with Toumani Camara (calf) out and Jerami Grant (knee) on the sidelines again. He's worth monitoring as a potential streamer in deeper leagues if Camara misses more time.
-
Tristan Vukcevic WAS PF
Wizards' Tristan Vukcevic: Pours in 17 points
45m agoVukcevic provided 17 points (6-13 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT), eight rebounds, two assists, two blocks and one steal in 24 minutes during Monday's 112-97 loss to the Trail Blazers.
Vukcevic finished one point shy of his season-best mark (18) in the loss. The Wizards were shorthanded Monday, and they rolled with an 11-man rotation while also pulling Khris Middleton and Jordan Poole at halftime. Meanwhile, Richaun Holmes never saw the floor. This could be an indication that Vukcevic is going to get an extended look in the final weeks.
-
AJ Johnson WAS PG
Wizards' AJ Johnson: Makes most of start
1h agoJohnson racked up eight points (3-8 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 1-2 FT), seven rebounds, four assists and one block over 35 minutes during Monday's 112-97 loss to Portland.
Johnson, who was making his first career start Monday, made the most of his minutes in the loss. Marcus Smart (illness) and Malcolm Brogdon (ankle) were both sidelined, while Jordan Poole and Khris Middleton were pulled at half team as a coach's decision. The Wizards don't have much to play for in the final weeks, so Johnson could get more looks like these.
-
Jaylen Martin WAS SG
Wizards' Jaylen Martin: Impresses off bench
1h agoMartin registered 11 points (5-10 FG, 1-3 3Pt), six rebounds, three assists and two steals in 28 minutes during Monday's 112-97 loss to Portland.
Making just his fourth appearance for the Wizards, Martin recorded multiple career-highs in his first extended workload -- the Wizards benched Jordan Poole and Khris Middleton at halftime of this contest. Martin, who is on a two-way contract, is likely to get more opportunities to impress down the stretch with the Wizards in player evaluation mode.
-
Logan Thompson WAS G
Capitals' Logan Thompson: Exits ice first
2m agoThompson was the first goalie off the ice Tuesday and will be between the pipes at home versus the Red Wings, Sammi Silber of The Hockey News reports.
Thompson will make consecutive starts for the first time since March 1 and 3. In his last three outings, the 28-year-old netminder went 3-0-0 despite a .897 save percentage. Even with Thompson going again Tuesday, fantasy players should continue to see plenty of Charlie Lindgren down the stretch.
-
Tristan Jarry PIT G
Penguins' Tristan Jarry: In goal Tuesday
6m agoJarry will get the starting nod at home versus the Islanders on Tuesday, Michelle Crechiolo of the Penguins' official site reports.
Jarry is riding a four-game winning streak since being called up from AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, posting a 2.24 GAA and .930 save percentage along the way. With his current run of form, Jarry has improved his numbers to 12-8-4 with a 3.13 GAA and .892 save percentage. Barring a dramatic shift in the Penguins' plans, Jarry looks poised to see the bulk of the workload the rest of the way.
-
Arthur Kaliyev NYR RW
Rangers' Arthur Kaliyev: Season officially over
18m agoKaliyev (upper body) will not play again this season, including the postseason, Mollie Walker of the New York Post reports Tuesday.
Kaliyev's season has been hampered by injuries, as the 23-year-old winger was limited to just 14 games this year in which he notched three goals, one assist and seven hits while averaging 11:13 of ice time. Looking ahead to the offseason, Kaliyev will be a restricted free agent, so he should be back with the Rangers next year after the two sides come together on a new deal.
-
Darcy Kuemper LA G
Kings' Darcy Kuemper: Tagged with loss Monday
28m agoKuemper stopped 19 of 21 shots in Monday's 3-1 loss to Minnesota. The third goal was an empty-netter in the final minutes of the third period.
Kuemper saw the end of his four-game winning streak with this defeat, though it wasn't a woeful outing or anything like that. Kuemper has been on a roll of late and has posted a save percentage of at least .900 in his past six appearances, which translates to a 4-1-1 record with an excellent 0.99 GAA and a .960 save percentage over that stretch.
-
Jet Greaves CLB G
Blue Jackets' Jet Greaves: Shipped back to minors
30m agoGreaves was returned to AHL Cleveland on Tuesday.
Greaves suited up in Monday's clash with the Devils, giving up two goals on 20 shots (.900 save percentage) in a losing effort. Overall, the 23-year-old backstop is 2-2-2 with a 2.83 GAA in six NHL outings this season. The decision to return Greaves to the minors likely points to Elvis Merzlikins rejoining the team ahead of Thursday's clash with Florida.
-
Adrian Kempe LA RW
Kings' Adrian Kempe: Nets PP goal Monday
30m agoKempe scored a power-play goal in Monday's 3-1 loss to Minnesota.
Kempe has been playing well of late and has cracked the scoresheet in four of his last six appearances, tallying two goals and three helpers over that stretch. The 28-year-old has been one of the most consistent and productive players for the Kings this season, tallying 28 goals and 27 assists over 66 games. He's notched nine points (three goals, six assists) across 13 contests since the 4 Nations break.
