Based on the best-selling novel by Margaret Atwood, this series is set in Gilead, a totalitarian society in what used to be part of the United States. Gilead is ruled by a fundamentalist regime that treats women as property of the state, and is faced with environmental disasters and a plummeting birth rate. In a desperate attempt to repopulate a devastated world, the few remaining fertile women are forced into sexual servitude. One of these women, Offred, is determined to survive the terrifying world she lives in, and find the daughter that was taken from her.

Daniel Fienberg The Hollywood Reporter The Handmaid’s Tale is still more than capable of nightmarish images and emotionally potent sequences. Moss has become perhaps the series’ finest director in addition to anchoring a still powerful cast. Apr 8, 2025 Full Review Amber Dowling Globe and Mail Viewers are required to suspend disbelief in order for certain storylines to work. However, the memorable acting, beautiful cinematography and emotions the show continues to evoke make up for those moments. Apr 8, 2025 Full Review Lauren Thoman TheWrap This final season is eminently bingeable, and each episode is tightly paced, with at least a few standout dramatic moments in each. Apr 3, 2025 Full Review James Croot The Post NZ It might be increasingly hard to see how this can top Trump 2.0’s America for tumult, but with Moss in charge, it’s off to a promising start. Apr 8, 2025 Full Review Stephen A. Russell ScreenHub If you’ve come to the final season of The Handmaid’s Tale expecting June to triumph over a burning Gilead, hold please. The wheels have a way to turn yet. Apr 7, 2025 Full Review Alan French FandomWire As The Handmaid’s Tale reaches its final season, we have to ask if the Emmy-winning series can sustain the relevance it once had. Through the episodes provided, the show makes a return to form. Rated: 8/10 Apr 4, 2025 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member The sound mix makes this completely unwatchable. I tried every setting and speaker combination possible… stereo, 5.1, atmos… and it’s just a wall of music with people inaudibly moving their lips. And I’m supposed to care about a character I barely remember from a flashback 8 years ago? Overwrought and pretentious. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 04/09/25 Full Review Kaitlyn I The show is really bringing Margaret Atwood’s vision to life. The videography is beautiful. The thought and emotion is captivating! Can’t wait to see the rest of season 6! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/09/25 Full Review Matheus C Clearly better than season five. Performances as always impeccable and Moss' direction is incredible Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/08/25 Full Review Mariano B “The Ending We Deserved: An Emotional Farewell to The Handmaid’s Tale The final season of The Handmaid's Tale didn’t just live up to expectations — it surpassed them. It was a conclusion (or almost a conclusion) full of emotion, depth, and humanity. It made me cry, made me angry, but most of all, it made me feel. Feel hope, pain, tenderness, and that spark that ignites when a story isn’t just watched, but lived. The characters, especially June, showed a growth that can only come after walking a brutal but necessary path. The writing, far from falling into empty drama, was brave. It took its time to show the wounds, the silences, the looks that say more than a thousand speeches. And within all that — resistance. Not as a heroic banner, but as something human, fragile, collective. This season reminded me that we’re not alone. That even in the darkest moments, something shifts, something is built. And that rage, pain, and love can all be forces for change. Watching these women (and some men) break chains, challenge systems, and hold on to each other was deeply moving. It wasn’t perfect, of course. There were moments that could’ve been sharper, character choices that are open to debate. But none of that overshadows the heart of the series: its message, its emotion, its ability to plant questions and hope. Because The Handmaid's Tale isn’t just a show. It’s a warning, a mirror, a call. And this final season echoed all our struggles — a hug to our anger and a spark that, hopefully, lights something in all of us. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/08/25 Full Review Anna H Acting, script, cinematography all fantastic! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/08/25 Full Review Dustin P The season 6 premiere was fantastic! I love this show. I won’t give anything away so go watch it and hopefully you’re caught up first. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/08/25 Full Review Read all reviews
