Habt Ihr natürlich nicht. Ist ein Scam. Nicht auf den Link „Auf Viren scannen“ klicken. Danach habt Ihr möglicherweise tatsächlich einen, und Euer Computer verschickt Viren.

(Betriebssystem ist nicht genannt, aber ich gehe davon aus, daß auf Windows gezielt wird.)

The amount of spam I get about reviewing my experiences with stuff is getting ridiculous.

I bought a Kobo eBook reader from one shop, and a cover and stylus from another. Both stores want me to review the "experience" and one also wants a product review.

Even the company that transported my packages to the pick-up location wants a review, and gods know for what. They even sent a reminder when I ignored the first.

2 orders, 5 requests for review. Just go away already!

Now when you reply to a post you basically send #email back to person who created it + CC to all people who commented on it (if you want).

Simple. Scallable. Secure and private by default.

You can send private #GPG encrypted #messages directly to people you want as you know their email adress.

What about #SPAM? Well public feed of Mastodon is basically a spam and you don't care about it. But I thought about either way.

So. You can create contact lists which will be list of people you follow.

Guys, just letting you know that if you're reporting a spam account to us, you don't need to include more than 2-3 posts from it. In case of spam we're not just deleting reported posts, but blocking an entire account, so everything goes away altogether.

Dont waste too much of your time on spammers.

We need to talk about Nicole.

Am I the only one who gets messages from Nicole, a "Polish girl from Canada" (sic) who invites me to join a bunch of things? And every time I block her, she reappears a few days later with the exact same DM from a new instance.

What can we do about this kind of spam? Not much I guess, besides playing whack a mole?

Nigdzie publicznie nie podawałem tego adresu, a właściwie od samego momentu założenia go regularnie dostaję spam z kont w domenach ze zrzutu, z powtarzającymi się imionami i nazwiskami.

I have been thoroughly going down the rabbit hole of predatory academic journals and conferences (!) this morning after my mail message blocklist hitting a milestone.

Spamming hashtags with vaguely relevant posts that don't say much. From the few accounts I examined, it seems like they're gearing up to push crypto-based, get-rich-quick scams.

Also, the sudden massive volume of "Give me 500 social media posts about how cool citizen science is, in a friendly, positive tone" prompts, from random brand-new accounts all blasting out at the exact same time, is a bit of a giveaway.

Derzeit gehen wieder vermehrt Phishing-Versuche herum, die auf englisch was von Problemen bei Webmail oder einer überschrittenen Quota erzählen. Die Absender-Adresse lautet oft auf dieselbe Domain (kann man leicht fälschen), aber in den Received-Zeilen ist klar erkennbar, daß die Mail von außen kommt.

Had to leave @librewolf Matrix group due to it getting spammed & people participating in this group getting invite spam including myself.

Apparently there is no option to counter this in @element or in the @matrix specs? Maybe it could be a bit less annoying if the room was invite only?

Anyways, I'm not willing to deal with this abuse & my only option was to leave this room for now. Pretty sad & angry about this type of behaviour still happening.

#Mastodon software should turn off access to application API key creation until a new user reaches a certain threshold of activity and then could automatically be permitted and that would stop some of these bots.

Admins could override a user, of course, but by default, getting an API key should be closed for a while, at least. Instead of vetting spam reports they could be vetting simple API requests at first.
